Community Engagement

 RE-Produce ~ Fruit Tree Project
RE-Produce project is a partnership between the Okanagan Fruit Tree Project, Potters Addict and Kelowna Museums.

Cool Arts artists are currently participating in fruit gleans hosted by OKFTP. Following this engagement, Cool Arts will create tree fruits out of clay with Potters Addict. The resulting works will go on display at the Orchard Industry Museum in October.

This project was made possible with the generous support of the Central Okanagan Foundation.

Beeboxes at the Orchard Industry Museum
Cool Arts Society is proud to announce the Beebox Project; a Cool Arts initiative and community collaboration that fuses Art and Agriculture in an exciting and innovative way.

This multifaceted project that celebrates a partnership between Cool Arts artists, local apiarist Kevin Dunn and the B.C. Orchard Industry Museum is generously funded by a City of Kelowna; Arts, Culture and Heritage (ACH) Project Grant.

Cool Arts artists are in the process of painting and documenting beeboxes supplied by Kevin Dunn of Okanagan Wildbrush Honey while being educated on the importance of bees in our local agriculture and food production. Further to painting and photo documentation, artists will also deliver their beeboxes to local orchards, filming the process and participating in film editing workshops for the purpose of educating the public about the vital importance of bees.

The Beebox Project will culminate in an exhibition hosted by the B.C. Orchard Museum this summer with specific dates to be announced.

Cool Arts is a non-profit society dedicated to providing art opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities in the Central Okanagan. For more information on past projects and volunteer opportunities, visit www.coolarts.ca or contact Rena Warren at info@coolarts.ca
